Programma
Maceo Casadei (Forlì, 1889-1992), has always fascinated us with his painting and his life full of experiences, emotions, travels and meetings.
In its first 45 years this exhibition is dedicated, which tends to focus on some of the highlights of its journey:
- the school of Giovanni Marchini in Forlì
- The stay in Lyon, where he attended the free school of the nude and studied the French artists from 1912 to 1917
- the First World War, in which he participated since 1917
- frequentation of the Cenacolo Artistico Forlivese from 1920 to 1928
- the Roman period (1934-1945) in which, assumed by the institute "LUCE" as a draftsman and war photographer, he experienced the most modern and vital artistic situation of the times.
A man of great courage, he managed to look at the future with enthusiasm and face adversity with determination.
To this artist, able to leave such a deep trace in the cultural reality of our city and able to mark the times enriching them with his knowledge and his tireless work, the exhibition wants to give prominence.
