Sunday, April 28, 2019  takes place in Castrocaro the traditional Fiera della Madonna dei Fiori, an event dedicated to the Virgi, which has preserved the town from the plague

Programma

Castrocaro Terme celebrates the traditional “Festival of the Virgin of Flowers”, dedicated to the Virgin who spared the town from the plague.

 

In 1632, as the population of Castrocaro was not affected by the terrible plague of the previous two years, citizens vowed to celebrate the Virgin every year, on the first Sunday after Easter.

Afterwards, the Virgin was given the name of “Virgin of flowers” most likely because the festival is held in spring.

 

During religious celebrations for the patron of Castrocaro, throughout the day there is the traditional street market, which involves numerous traders with a comprehensive selection of food and a funfair full of fun attractions for all.
