Piazza Garibaldi

Florestano Di Fausto projected Garibaldi Square to increase the scenographic value of the above Villa Mussolini. The square was constructed between 1928 and 1930.

Description

Piazza Garibaldi was projected after the foundation of Predappio Nuova between 1925 and 1942.
Together with Piazza S. Antonio it is one of the nerve centres of the village.
Piazza Garibaldi was projected to heighten the above Villa Mussolini. Florestano di Fausto projected and constructed the square between 1928 and 1930. Garibaldi Square is semicircular; along its perimeter there is a low gallery. The centre of the square is highlighted by an arch in perspective with Mussolini's house. From the Arch an imposing staircase leaded to the native house of the Dux who decided to knock it down.

How to get there

The square is located in the centre of the town. It rises along the main road that crosses Predappio.

News

Every year on the fourth Sunday of May and the fourth Sunday of September a fair is organized in this square; this happening is called "Il Baule della Nonna". The weekly street market takes on Saturday.
