Welcome to the Official Tourist Information Site of the Municipality of Forlì

Casa Numai Fuzzi

One of the oldest buildings in the town, the house was likely built in the 14th century by masters from the Lombardy region. The medieval-style pillars are indeed older than the ones of the Palmezzano’s House located in Corso Garibaldi, although very similar. The house features a portico with round fired-brick arches supported by octagonal pillars, a very common feature of Forlì architecture of that time. The façade shows traces of windows decorated with phytomorphyc elements confirming that medieval carved style had been replaced by die technique. The portico’s round-corner pillars have irregular-shaped waterleaf capitals made out of a local porous stone, known as “spungone”, which was likely to be dressed on site by stone cutters.
