The Regional Reserve of Scardavilla was created in 1991, its area
is about 30 hectares.
Naturalist Pietro Zangheri carried out important botanical studies
on the area which today are mostly aimed at monitoring the
evolution of the natural landscape and better knowing its fauna and
flora.
Environmental education Educational
projects are organized in collaboration with local schools, such as
experiment laboratories and guided tours.
The projects are run by qualified personnel who has to attend
specific training courses organized by the Parks Service of the
Emilia-Romagna Region.
Environmental protection Specific and targeted
interventions are performed to eliminate any obstacles to the
establishment and development of valuable flora, to restore the
damaged habitats and foster the receptivity of the environment in
which rare and threatened plants and animals reproduce.
Week timetable opening
All visits must be booked with the Reserve Director.
The reserve is managed by the Civic Museum and Visitors Centre
"Mirco Bravaccini" on behalf of the Province of
Forlì-Cesena.
To enter the Reserve, an authorisation is required and issued by
the Museum.
Festive timetable opening
Visits must be booked in advance. For further information
please contact the Reserve Director.
Opening time
The access to the protected area must be asked in advance to
the Mayor of Meldola by fax or formal letter (addressed to Sindaco
Comune Meldola). The direction of the wildlife reserve gives a
personal pass (free of charge) valid for 6 months.

How to get there
To reach the natural reserve from Forlì or Forlimpopoli,
head towards Meldola. If you come from Forlimpopoli, right before
the built-up area, in the location named Para, follow the
directions to San Martino in Strada and then to Rocca delle
Caminate and Ravaldino in Monte. Continue for less than 1 km, then
turn left into Via della Collina to reach shortly Scardavilla di
Sopra.
If you come from Meldola and follow the national road SS. 310 del
Bidente, take via San Giovanni and then Via Sbargoleto.
