Ponte dei Veneziani

The bridge connects Piazza Garibaldi to Via Sbaraglio. The building crosses the Viti river with its powerful arcades. People recalls that in 1300 there used to be a bridge which used to include the relics of the ancient Roman aqueduct built under emperor Traianus during the II Cantury AD.

Description

It is built on the Bidente River. It was mentioned in some manuscripts dated 1300. It was restored and partially rebuilt under the dominium of the Venice Republic (1503-1509). It was badly damaged during the Second World War, then rebuilt and widening it.

How to get it

It is located right outside historic centre of the town towards Fratta.
